Base Seoul Game Night during BUIDL ASIA 2025 Week!
This April meetup was especially meaningful as global builders and creators visiting Korea for BUIDL ASIA all gathered together! This meetup was co-hosted the event with 'B3', Base ecosystem's gaming platform, featuring various sessions and panel talks on the theme of 'Gaming on Base'.
Starting April 28th, Base Seoul is launching a special program for builders called the <Base Seoul Onchain Summer Program>. Amy from Base Seoul introduced this program, sharing Base Seoul's vision along with a brief overview of the entire program.
This program runs for 5 weeks, consisting of 5 sessions (once per week), with a comprehensive curriculum that allows participants to learn step-by-step from blockchain fundamentals to smart contract development. The introduction to the upcoming Onchain Summer Program heightened expectations about the various opportunities and possibilities that will unfold on the Base ecosystem.
Saemi, Director at B3, personally introduced B3, which is building a game-specialized L3 for gamers and developers on the Base ecosystem. Founded by former Coinbase members and backed by seed investment from Pantera Capital, B3 is growing rapidly with the philosophy that "fun comes first, blockchain comes later", creating an onchain gaming environment that anyone can easily enjoy. B3's strategy, which pursues both Web2 convenience and Web3 ownership—such as allowing users to log in with email and start games without a wallet—attracted significant interest from developers and gamers at the meetup.
Following that, Jisoo from SOOHO.IO presented on the topic "Beyond Chatbots to Autonomous Agents," highlighting the evolution of AI Agents from simple responsive AIs in Web2 to those with economic autonomy and community building capabilities in Web3. The case study of 'Rika', a cybersecurity-specialized AI agent, was particularly impressive. It demonstrated practical applications such as wallet address verification and scam link detection, autonomously judging and performing various onchain activities.
Additionally, she shared insights on AI Agent incentive systems integrated with gaming elements, predicting an era where agents will autonomously design reward structures beyond Play-to-Earn (P2E). It seems the day is not far off when AI that "grows" together with users will emerge as new colleagues in the blockchain ecosystem, rather than just being simple tools!

Panelists:
Saemi
(Director, B3)
Kevin
(Korea BD Lead, KGeN)
John Cho
(Chief Web3 Officer, GRAM Ecosystem)
This panel talk was moderated by Taki from Lum0x, bringing together leaders from different Web3 gaming ecosystems—Saemi (B3), Kevin (KGeN), and John Cho (GRAM Ecosystem)—to share honest conversations about "building games on Base."
What was most impressive was that all three panelists commonly cited Base's 'community energy' as their core reason for building on the platform. They explained that the real charm of Base is not just its good infrastructure, but the 'fast-paced environment' where ideas can be immediately shared and feedback received. It was a moment where the phrase "people over technology" really resonated.
Another key point was the 'fun' aspect of gaming. No matter how "onchain" it is, users ultimately need to genuinely enjoy it. This is why all panelists revealed they are actively adopting Web2-style UX, such as email-based onboarding and easy login methods. Lower barriers to entry bring in more users, which is where the real gaming experience begins.
In the end, it clearly showed that Web3 gaming is no longer 'technology for technology's sake.' The session demonstrated that design for real players and growing communities are becoming central to the ecosystem.
Base Seoul meetups are held monthly, with the next May meetup scheduled for May 7th at Sooho Lounge.
